2017 Summer Literacy Programs:

Library Camp

Library Camp is a 3-week-long, free summer school class for 1st-6th grade students. Sign-ups were collected through the School District of Albany as a part of the school’s official summer school curriculum.  

Children's Storytime

Children's Storytime is offered weekly for children age 0-5 on Wednesdays at 9:30 from June 12 through August 2. No registration necessary.

Reading Programs

PreK/Toddler

Participate in twelve consecutive weeks of reading, June 12-September 2. Mark up a log of reading and summer activities, aiming for 2 hours of reading time every four weeks. Check-in at the library at least once every four weeks to redeem incentive prizes, work on a “World Craft” showing your progress, and enter into a grand prize drawing. Grand prizes will be awarded at the first regular storytime in September. Register for the Prek/Toddler program online or complete a form at the library.

Kindergarten – 6th Grade

Participate in twelve consecutive weeks of reading, June 12-September 2. Keep a log of reading time, aiming for 2 hours of reading time each week. Check-in at the library at least once every four weeks to redeem reading prizes, work on a “World Craft” showing your progress, and enter into a grand prize drawing. Grand prizes will be awarded to Albany students at the first POPS assembly in September and to non-student participants at an awards day to be scheduled at the library. Register for the K-6th grade reading program online or complete a form at the library.
