The Albertson Memorial Library solar array is a featured site on the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) National Tour on 10/1/2022. Hours for the tour of the library solar array are from 10 am until 1 pm.

The solar array has been in operation for one year. It was projected to generate 30,000 kWh of electricity. In the first year it actually generated 33,783 kWh. That is 11% more electricity than projected. The electricity production of the solar array is impacted by weather conditions, like snow and sunlight, so the amount produced may vary from year to year. The first year was a particularly good year for the solar array.

The electricity generated by the solar array resulted in substantial cost savings on electricity for the library. The cost savings is estimated to be about $3,500 annually. The electricity savings will pay for the system in about 11.5 years. It has been a solid investment -- money well spent.
